The Rathauscafé in Wolfratshausen has been closed for a few months. Now the city has decided on a new tenant.

Wolfratshausen - The Rathauscafé gets a new tenant. The city council decided on Tuesday evening in a non-public meeting. The committee made a selection from two remaining interested parties. Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner does not reveal which restaurateur has been awarded the contract, upon reference to our newspaper, with reference to the confidentiality period. The decision was not yet dry: "The city council has the opportunity to withdraw this decision for a week."

As is well known, the operator of the Kaffee Ratscherl on Königsdorfer Straße, Rita Schmid, applied together with Barbara Schramm-Kastl from the "Busserl-Manufaktur". When asked, Schmid says: "I want the city to announce this." She herself did not want to comment on it. However, she does not deny that the choice fell on her concept.

In the course of further research in our newspaper, the second of the two remaining applicants reports: Johannes Woll, a Münsinger, who wanted to create a restaurant and deli counter "with event location character" in the shop in Wolfratshauser Rathausumfeld, which has been closed since May, with several colleagues. Nothing will come of it: "I received information from the city that they had decided against our concept." Conversely, this means that the Ratscherl landlady Schmid was awarded the contract.

Woll, who, for example, wanted to invite people to enjoy "as if on vacation" with baked focaccia, dried porcini mushrooms and Aperol Sprizz, feels "presented" by the municipality in his own words. He submitted his application in September - and today suspects that it was already clear who would move into the Rathauscafé. “If the city really wanted a pastry shop in the Rathauscafé, we could have been told.” He himself doesn't think that makes sense, given the fact that there are three cafés within a few meters. Nevertheless: If the cancellation was made early and clear, he, Woll, and his colleagues could have saved "a lot of money and time". Finally, the group developed a sophisticated concept and visited the café.

What he saw on these tours with some building authority employees: "A lot has to be done in the café." The ceiling no longer complies with the fire protection regulations, the windows are not adequately soundproofed and the basement - there is the bakery, cold room and a warehouse - "Is ruinous".

Mayor Heilinglechner makes no secret of the fact that the city “has to be active” in the property - and preferably quickly: “We have to get there.” The household has set 400,000 euros. An opening is only conceivable when the measures have been completed. However, it is currently not yet possible to estimate how long the renovation work will take.

"There are several imponderables," says Heilinglechner. So it is questionable whether offers for all construction measures are immediately arriving in the town hall. "Coordination with the future tenant has yet to be finalized." Who does the city have to coordinate with? Everything points to Rita Schmid.
