Speaker of the People's Assembly Hamouda Sabbagh discussed with the head of the Iranian Islamic Shura Council Ali Larijani and the accompanying delegation bilateral relations between Syria and Iran in the parliamentary fields and ways to enhance cooperation to increase the level of trade exchange between the two countries.

Sabbagh stressed during the meeting the depth of the Syrian-Iranian strategic alliance in the face of terrorism, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the Iranian Islamic Republic, leadership, government and people for their continuous support and support to Syria.

Sabbagh pointed to the strong relations between the Syrian and Iranian peoples that have been established since ancient times, calling for advancing bilateral relations in the face of the blockade and the unilateral economic coercive measures imposed on both countries.

For his part, Larijani expressed his country's pride in the steadfastness of Syria and the successive victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army against terrorism and his confidence in the improvement of conditions in the near future, pointing to the change of world opinion and positive engagement towards Syria for the better in light of the important developments that take place.

Larijani said that his country has a clear vision of what is going on in the region and it views cooperation with Syria as a strategic alliance and not a tactical process again, stressing that his country continues to support Syria in all fields and in the stage of reconstruction and reconstruction and raising the level of exchange and trade relations between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by a number of members of the People's Assembly and the Syrian ambassador to Iran, Dr. Adnan Mahmoud, and Iran's ambassador to Syria, Jawad Turk Turki.

In a press conference held by the two sides, the Speaker of the People's Assembly affirmed the unity of the path and destiny between the two countries and their deliberate blood with the blood of the pure martyrs, indicating that the two countries are jointly leading the battle of resistance and equality in the face of the forces of hegemony, Zionism, dependency and employment in all its forms, as the two countries have proven their strength despite the blockade imposed on them.

For his part, Larijani clarified that his talks with President Bashar al-Assad dealt with the issue of strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries, expressing his hope that the future will be full of more such cooperation.

Larijani indicated that his country does not forget the support provided by the leadership, government and people of Syria to the Iranian people since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, stressing that Syria represents one of the important countries in the axis of resistance.

Larijani explained that when comparing the stances of some Arab countries towards the malicious "deal of the century" with Syria's stance towards the Zionist entity, everyone sees the supremacy of the goals and objectives that Syria seeks to achieve.

Larijani pointed out that his country always emphasizes an important point, which is that all countries of the region have friendly relations, even though there is a dispute. This must be resolved through dialogue, pointing to the need to increase cooperation between Iranian and Syrian businessmen and traders in the reconstruction phase.

In response to a question about Syrian-Iranian cooperation in the field of reconstruction, Sabbagh stressed that the Syrian-Iranian relations are always rooted and renewed, and that just as the brothers in Iran had a role in supporting Syria and supporting it during the unjust war against it, they would have a major role in the reconstruction phase.

Larijani pointed out that with regard to the reconstruction of Syria and the prosperity of the economy, the business sector in Iran is ready to support Syria and work with it, adding: “There are studies on the mechanisms of entry of Iranian companies to Syria and it cannot be said that there are obstacles to joint action, but there are some routine and administrative matters and we have proposed methods that can To facilitate these matters ”, expressing his hope that the executive bodies of the two countries will push forward the bilateral work.
