At the last minute, the SPD in Schwabhausen withdrew the list of candidates for its council. The reason is misinformation.
Schwabhausen - If the voters in Schwabhausen go to the voting booth on March 15 and want to put their crosses on the list of suggestions for the local council, they will look in vain for the SPD list: the comrades have the last minute list in Schwabhausen in mid-January for the Municipal council withdrawn again. Reason: misinformation.
After twelve years of abstinence, a separate SPD list for the local council had been drawn up in Schwabhausen. The voters should find three names: the couple Manuel and Sabine Langner and daughter Sabrina Bauer. Hubert Böck, chairman of the SPD Indersdorf, in which the local associations from Altomünster, Schwabhausen and Bergkirchen also merged in spring 2018, was very pleased about this.
The joy, at least with Sabine Langner, quickly vanished when she told me about her candidacy in the town hall: "I was made aware that if I was elected, I had to choose between my work as a youth worker for the community and volunteering due to legal requirements!" Before the list was drawn up, she explicitly asked Hubert Böck "whether my work bites the electoral council with an election" - and received information from Böck that it was "no problem".
Sabine Langner has been working for the community as a youth worker on a 35-hour basis since July, when she succeeded Agnes Kokai, who went on maternity leave. And "I really enjoy working with young people and it is far too important to give up on volunteering," says Langner. It was therefore clear that she would withdraw her candidacy. And then offering the voters only two people on the SPD list was unfair to the other parties and groups, the Schwabhauser SPD representatives found.
So after consulting the local election officer, the decision was made to simply refrain from submitting the necessary documents and thus invalidate the list submission. The mistake lies with her, Sabine Langner freely admits: "I have to put on the shoe with the wrong information!"
Also and because she was very upset how it all went, she announced that she would rethink her future engagement with the SPD. Even though she "grew up in Schwabing and was an SPDler through and through".
