Two missions a day, new faces on the board, lack of staff, an anniversary and a lot of praise from, but also for Mayor Christian Schiller: on Friday, a good 80 spectators in the fire station watched the annual general meeting of the Herrschinger comrades.

Herrsching - The active team drove a total of 620 missions in 2019. "That is 25 more than in the previous year," said Commandant Daniel Pleyer. The year started with a burning garbage can on New Year's Eve and culminated in a roof truss fire. The alarm about the burning wooden house reached the firefighters at three in the morning. Commandant Pleyer was impressed by the 83-year-old, who "brought herself to safety from the first floor and made the emergency call". Eleven hours of extinguishing work followed.

The traffic accident involving three motorcycles on Mühlfelderstrasse on Father's Day was still in everyone's bones. Because "the driver's mistake on the motorcycle was fatal for the pillion," the commander recalled. The comrades were out for 62 fire operations, 103 technical assistance and 40 fire alarms, of which 20 were false or technical alarms. "That resulted in an increase of seven units compared to the previous year." The goal must be to bring the false alarms to zero, "in order to increase the credibility of the technical early detection systems," Pleyer said. In January, six firefighters jumped to the side of the Miesbach district in the snow chaos. The Herrschingen comrades also completed around 3,200 training hours.

Special thanks go to the activists of the Fist Responder, which was introduced 20 years ago. 430 times they helped injured people or people with health problems. "Ten years ago there were 177 missions," said Pleyer. Thanks to the inheritance of a ruler, a new emergency vehicle could be bought.

Pleyer was concerned about the dwindling number of active people, this year there were eight men. At some point, Herrsching will no longer be able to avoid a full-time fire department, says Pleyer. The 20 youngsters among the 71 active participants are a ray of hope. In almost 700 hours of practice, they prepared for their future tasks, reported youth leader Robert Schallner. The volunteers had a total of almost 15,000 hours.

"Impressive," said Mayor Schiller, to whom Treasurer Erkan Pinar, Pleyer and Chairman Michael Polednik thanked for the support. Schiller could only return the thanks - and explicitly praised the volunteers who had taken the time off last Monday to be prepared for Sturm Sabine.

Veronika Echtler and Helena Fitze were honored for ten years of active service, Kathrin Graf and Ulrich Hetzenecker for 20 years. Phillip Hildebrandt, Jens-Peter Walter and Christoph Zech were promoted to fire fighters, Fabian Weindl, chief fire fighter, Peter Saur, fire chief, and Daniel Pleyer, chief fire chief. The fire brigade remains Michael Polednik, his new deputy is David Lampl. Adrian Kast takes over the writing, Erkan Pinar remains treasurer. The assessors are Julian Keller and Jens-Peter Walter.
