In the early morning hours of Sunday, February 16, 20, a serious traffic accident occurred on the A8 motorway.
Worse accident on A8 near Siegsdorf: 21-year-old hit by car
A 42-year-old Slovak who was driving his car on the motorway towards Salzburg realized too late that there was a pedestrian on the road.
The dark-clad person was in the middle of the highway. The Slovakian braked hard, but could no longer prevent a collision and hit the man head-on.
This was thrown off by the impact and remained unconscious on the right lane of the highway.
First aiders who were added immediately started resuscitation and informed the emergency services and the police about an emergency call. Numerous fire brigade, rescue and emergency personnel were deployed at the scene of the accident. The traffic police inspection in Traunstein undertook the investigation into the course of the accident.
The person who was hit by the car was a 21-year-old man from the Siegsdorf area. Unfortunately, he died in Traunstein Hospital due to the serious injuries sustained in the collision. The Slovakian driver was not injured in the traffic accident and his Hyundai car suffered total damage.
The public prosecutor's office in Traunstein commissioned an expert to prepare an accident analysis report.
The A8 motorway was completely blocked for two hours in the direction of Salzburg, to record the accident at the level of the accident site, the Siegsdorf-West junction.
