Japanese Minister of Health Katsunobu Kato warned on Sunday that Japan was entering a "new phase" of this viral infection, the country finding daily more cases among people who did not go to China, home of the epidemic, and having had no contact with visitors from China.
Japan has also canceled the reception of the public in the Palace gardens for the birthday of the new emperor Naruhito on February 23, because of fears over the spread of the new coronavirus.
