The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the implementation of the United States' plans for space armament is seriously damaging the space security system.
"The movement of the Cosmos 2542 satellite did not constitute a threat and did not violate international law. Rather, the implementation of the US space and weapons plans will cause irreparable damage to the current space security system," Sputnik agency quoted the ministry as saying today.
The ministry indicated that it was concerned with the recent statements of American officials, including the commander of the American Space Forces John Raymond, regarding the alleged "harassment" of the Russian spacecraft Cosmos 2542 with the American spy satellite / USA 245 /, stressing that the United States continues its anti-Russian propaganda campaign which aims To conceal the destructive measures of Washington, stir the arms race in outer space and turn it into a new area of military confrontation.
The ministry considered this provocative attack as another attempt by the United States to justify the measures it had taken to deploy weapons in space and hold others responsible for destabilizing the situation in space security.
