President Bashar al-Assad said in a televised speech today on the occasion of the recent liberation battles:
Our honorable sons of Aleppo ... Greetings of steadfastness and steadfastness ... Greetings of faith in God and the nation ... Greetings of courage and sacrifice ... Our Syrian Arab army brings to you the bodies of its fighters.
When the city of Aleppo was liberated at the end of the year two thousand and sixteen, I said that what happened before the liberation of the city of Aleppo will not be the same as after it, I started in that from my knowledge of where the sons of our armed forces pay with their hearts and minds, I started with my belief that the patriotism and loyalty of the people of Aleppo For their homeland and for the homeland army will turn the enemies' accounts. This is what happened, and Aleppo had to pay a great price that equals the greatness of its people and the patriotism of its position ... Years of brutal and brutal bombardment affected most of the neighborhoods, tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, orphans, bereaved, widows .... Years of siege without water, electricity, or other essentials of life for Aleppo to kneel down and for its children to surrender, and with every treacherous shell that fell, the enemies' hope was to increase themselves to become a milking themselves, a milking other, another milking that did not exist throughout history ... Aleppo that does not Its twin, Damascus, has two wings with which the country can fly. And because it is so, its people have not only accepted resilience with what it means to bear the pain, suffering and submission to the fait accompli, but rather with what it means from work and production that continued during the years of the siege, despite the conditions that are totally contrary to any economic logic ... Nevertheless, this city remained contributing, even if at a minimum, to the national economy, and I am confident that this type of steadfastness, which reflects the solid will and deep-rooted affiliation, is the one that will rise from Aleppo from the ashes of war to restore its natural and leading position in the economy Syrian".
He added, “It is true that the liberation of the city in the two thousand and sixteen did not achieve the desired safety of the city at the time, and it remained under the yoke of treachery and cowardly shells. It is also true today that victory in a battle does not mean victory in war, but this is in the abstract military logic that is built on the ends and results As for the national logic, the victory begins with the beginning of steadfastness, even if it was from the first day, and with this logic, Aleppo triumphed ... and Syria triumphed ... we all triumphed over the fear that they tried to sow in our hearts, we triumphed over the illusions they tried to instill in our minds, we triumphed over disintegration, over Hatred, for treason, and for everyone who represents him These characteristics and carry and exercise. President al-Assad stressed that "our Syrian Arab army will not fail to carry out its national duties, and it will not be only as it was, an army of the people and for it ... His Eminence considered that “while we live in times of joy we must remember that these moments were achieved by years of pain, agony and sadness, in the absence of Aziz who sacrificed his soul for the life and happiness of others, and as we bow in reverence to the greatness of our martyrs and our wounded, it is our duty to stand respect in front of The greatness of their mighty families ... President al-Assad also paid tribute to "our brothers, friends and allies who were with the army, shoulder to shoulder on the ground and eagles protecting the sky ... so their blood mixed with the blood of our army and they all narrated the land of Aleppo, Aleppo, loyal to its homeland ... loyal to its history ... which will not forget the blood of those who were sacrificed for it, and will return as it was."
