The protest actions renewed this evening in the center of the Lebanese capital Beirut and Saida to demand an improvement in the living situation and the abolition of some taxes.
The Lebanese National Media Agency reported that a number of protesters carried out a sit-in in front of the Banque du Liban building in Beirut's Hamra Street, chanting slogans denouncing the country's financial and banking policies, noting that the demonstrators then turned to the bank's backyard and wrote slogans on the walls denouncing the bank’s policy.
The agency noted that the elements of the Internal Security Forces arrived at the backyard of the bank after the protesters blocked the road.
Other protesters also organized a protest march in front of the Banque du Liban in Saida, in opposition to banking policy and bank management.
Since October 17, Lebanon has witnessed demonstrations and protest actions calling for improving the living conditions, fighting corruption and holding the corrupt accountable.
