"My dream is that no one will have to wait for a kidney transplant, that every patient will receive a kidney within a short period of time without waiting," concludes Rabbi Avraham Isaiah Haber of his life-giving project, "The Gift of Life," a decade ago, In recent years, we have been able to catch up with much of the gap and we hope that with the support of the public we can get a kidney for everyone who needs it. In the last decade and especially in the last four years, there has been a dramatic increase in awareness of the topic and the number of transplants. "The Gift of Life Association was founded in 2009 and aims to eliminate the organ waiting list," says Rabbi Haber. "To date, the association alone has located 780 people who have decided to donate, 500 of them in the last four years. 99% of these donors donated a kidney to foreign people.
