A serious accident occurred on the A95 between Penzberg and Iffeldorf. Apparently, an Audi SUV driver was about to switch on the interior lights - and was not careful for a moment.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - The accident driver said he had tried to switch on the interior lighting in his Audi SUV .
Around 6 p.m. , a 57-year-old from the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district drove his V-Class Mercedes (Vito) on the left lane between the Seeshaupt and Penzberg / Iffeldorf junctions.

His wife and two teenagers were still in the Mercedes. "Due to the renovation of bridges and asphalt pavement, a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour has been arranged around the Seeshaupt exit for several kilometers," explains Peter Nieland, service group leader at the traffic police inspection in Weilheim.
The directional lanes in the area of the former median crossing are currently only separated from one another by means of concrete construction site elements.
In the fast lane, a black Audi Q7 with Polish registration approached the Mercedes from behind at very high speed. A 43-year-old tourist behind the wheel, with his wife and toddler in the Audi.
"The Polish citizen said he looked up while driving to turn on the interior lighting," reports Nieland. This briefly distracted the Audi driver.

The result: he crashed into the rear of the Mercedes MPV with his SUV. Due to the massive impact, the trunk lid of the Mercedes was pushed into the back seat. The two adolescents in the Vito suffered minor injuries, and the small child sitting in the Audi was brought to a specialist clinic by the emergency services as a precaution.
On the A95, a field of rubble several hundred meters long testified to the accident, the total damage to property is around 100,000 euros . The Starnberg Autobahnmeisterei and the Beuerberg volunteer fire brigade were responsible for cleaning the road and securing the traffic.
The A95 had to be completely blocked at times. The Pole had to pay a security deposit in the four-digit euro range to secure the criminal proceedings.
