65-year-old worker dies during water pipeline excavation

A worker died this morning in an accident at work in San Benedetto del Tronto. He was 65 and was approaching retirement.

According to a first reconstruction, he was busy on a water pipeline, when he fell into the excavation and was overwhelmed by the earth.
Immediately rescue, it was not possible for the 118 health workers to load him on board the ambulance because of his serious conditions that did not allow him to stabilize him.
Transferred to the Madonna del Soccorso hospital, he died shortly after hospitalization.

The Prosecutor of Ascoli Piceno has ordered the seizure of the area and on the spot as well as firefighters, carabinieri and municipal police are expected the Inail officials.
