The Plon editions and the national gendarmerie announced Monday the creation of the price of the novel of the national gendarmerie. This price will be awarded for the first time at the beginning of 2021, the selected manuscript to be published by Editions Plon, specifies the gendarmerie in a press release.
Can participate in this prize " any active or retired gendarme, any reservist (operational or citizen), any civilian staff of the national gendarmerie, writing a literary, historical or police novel in which the gendarmerie, the territories and the relationship to the profession of gendarme occupy a cardinal place ”.

Can also compete, " any author who would also write a literary, historical or detective novel about the gendarmerie (or in which the latter would occupy a prominent place) ", adds the gendarmerie.
The deadline for sending manuscripts to Editions Plon has been set for April 30. The jury, chaired by General Christian Rodriguez, director general of the national gendarmerie, will be composed in particular of gendarmes and authors already published. The police have their price, that of the Quai des Orfèvres, created in 1946.
