A former student of the École Polytechnique and a member of the Corps des Mines, Philippe d'Iribarne was first a high-ranking civil servant before devoting himself to sociology. He built a work devoted to the specificity of each national culture and to the value system of its citizens. Several of his works - "The Logic of Honor. Business management and national traditions ”(Seuil, 1989),“ L'Étrangeté française ”(Seuil, 2006) - are classics.
