What do Parisians think of this choice? Four weeks before the first round, we went to meet them to gather their opinions.
A more consensual personality
"Agnes Buzyn is a consensual personality and her national stature is an asset in front of her adversaries", comments Claude, a resident of the 15th century. This retiree voted LREM in the presidential and legislative elections and intends to remain loyal to his party next March. Contrary to what some of his critics say, the former Minister of Health was not wrong, he said, to resign when she was on the front line facing the epidemic of coronavirus in China, the public hospital crisis and pension reform as claimed by its critics? "His successor is presented as a good connoisseur of files," he defends.
Unlike Anne Hidalgo (PS) or Benjamin Griveaux - when he was government spokesperson - Agnès Buzyn does not have a divisive personality. Septic sympathizers
Even if she also recognizes qualities in Agnès Buzyn, Yvonne, a resident of the 15th century, says that she is "very disappointed that she has resigned from the government. When you are invested with a mission, you go to the end ... Especially in this crucial period, ”says this retired woman. "Perhaps she acted under the pressure of Emmanuel Macron," she continues. This decision causes new disorders within the government and weakened the Republic marching in Paris. I don't see how we are going to be able to win, ”regrets this sympathizer of LREM.
His past at the Ministry of Health, a handicap?
Does Simone Veil's ex-daughter-in-law risk exposing herself to criticism from Parisian health professionals? "She is leaving the government, leaving behind the burning file of the public hospital. "I will not vote for the one who increased the number of compulsory vaccines from 3 to 11 and programmed the disbursement of homeopathy", gets angry Charles, a resident of the 11th.
Agnes Buzyn also risks paying for the behavior of the former government spokesperson. “I voted for Macron in the presidential and legislative elections. But it's over, ”says Luc, 45, a resident of the 18th century. “LREM has invested an irresponsible dilettante and replaced her with a personality whose conception of health I do not share. I will never vote for this party again, ”swears this entrepreneur who will offer his bulletin to Rachida Dati (LR). Cyrille, a 25-year-old student living in the 9th arrondissement, decided to give his voice to Cédric Villani, excluded from LREM for having dissident against Benjamin Griveaux, "I find him sincere". Julie, a 40-year-old mother admits that she does not know her, but says that she will not vote for Anne Hidalgo or Rachida Dati. Agnes Buzyn has four weeks to convince Parisians.
