Pliening is also growing in the neighborhood of the growing community of Poing: soon the municipality will have 6,000 inhabitants. Good news: The new children's home in Landsham opens this year.

Pliening - A year ago, Pliening Mayor Roland Frick had bad news at the reception for new citizens that the new daycare center in Landsham was not going to be finished on time. Now, at the 2020 reception on Sunday in the community center, he was able to announce: "We are busy, the daycare center is ready in summer."

Pliening: 111 new daycare places in Landsham

The building, which will be built in a wooden frame in the new Landsham-Süd area, will house three kindergarten and three crèche groups. With a total of 75 kindergarten and 36 crèche places. The operator and sponsor is the non-profit Kinderland PLUS GmbH from Poing. Frick announces that the house will open in late summer at the start of kindergarten year 2020/21.

Fifth day care center in the municipality of Pliening

It will be the fifth childcare facility in Pliening and the second in Landsham. The Catholic kindergarten St. Barbara in Pliening has 50 kindergarten places, the AWO children's house Pliening has 75 plus 24 crèche places, reports Manuela Fuchs. The deputy treasurer is also responsible for childcare in the town hall. The BRK Kindergarten Landsham has 75 kiga and 12 crèche places. In addition to these facilities, there is also a crèche group (twelve children) of the Pliening Parents' Initiative (EIP) in the family country.

Pliening: a place for every child

With a view to the current registration time for the next year of kindergarten or crèche, Manuela Fuchs says: "It looks very good." There is a place in a childcare facility for each child. Some girls and boys, who are currently hosted abroad as guest children (around 55 in total), may return to Pliening - depending on the needs or wishes of the parents.

5996 people live in the community

At the reception for young families on Sunday, Mayor Roland Frick announced the current number of inhabitants: 5996 (as of Friday, February 14). It will not be long before Pliening reaches 6000, especially given the construction progress in Landsham-Süd.

Pliening: 61 births in 2019

According to Frick, a total of 61 births were registered in the community last year, 31 girls and 30 boys. The youngest visitors to the new citizen reception were between one week and three weeks old - and thus already belong to the Plieninger Generation 2020.

At the reception, as every year, associations and organizations presented themselves, which are particularly active in the community in the area of children and young people. A year ago, the mayor had to announce that although the basement of the new children's home in Landsham had already been completed as planned, construction could not continue. Reason: There was no corresponding offer from a construction company for the tender for the timber frame construction of the building. After another call for tenders, a company came forward in the course of last year and is now completing the construction.

Not as fast as Poing, but Pliening continues to develop into the capital suburb.
