Over the next few weeks, ten deposit rings will be installed in the city area. The city youth council has campaigned for the project and also wants to check whether the offer is accepted. Because then more rings could follow.

Fürstenfeldbruck - After Gröbenzell and Germering, the city is also moving: deposit rings are installed on trash cans and lanterns in central locations. The initiative comes from the City Youth Council. The young politicians had submitted an application to the city council last July and found a majority.

"With the deposit rings, we kill two birds with one stone," explains deputy chairwoman Bianca Aßmus. The deposit for bottles and cans is only very small. “The bottles therefore often end up in the bushes because it is not worth bringing them back.” You can therefore protect the environment with deposit rings. Because they are also wrong in the residual waste bin and have to be sorted out at the landfill.

The second advantage: people who rely on bottle deposit income can simply take the bottles out of the rings, explains Aßmus. The passers-by could support these collectors and save them the inhumane digging in the garbage can. By returning the deposit bottles, there is no unnecessary waste.

Multiple bottle and can holders are installed at ten locations. These include the market square and the Geschwister-Scholl-Platz, the train stations and also some schools, such as both high schools. "There is a deposit system at the Realschule," explains Bianca Aßmus. Therefore, you will not install a deposit ring there. The administration decides exactly where the brackets made by a Fürstenfeldbruck locksmith will hang. According to the city administration, the costs amount to 165 euros per deposit ring.

"We are looking forward to the rapid implementation of the project and hope for a positive response," says Aßmus. That is why the city youth councils want to draw people's attention to this in the city on the day of the constellation. The test phase should last a year, then the city youth council wants to repeat the survey among the citizens. Because if it is up to the youngsters, there shouldn't be ten pledges in the long term, says the vice chairwoman. "The mayor has already announced that there can be more if the offer is accepted."
