Umm Al-Zaytoun mill in Sweida started production today after the completion of the experimental stages.
The director of the mill site, Eng. Nizar Naim, told a SANA reporter that the mill is currently operating with a capacity of 150 tons of wheat per day, and that it will be raised over the coming period to 300 tons.
Naeem indicated that the mill is being operated with local cadres and under the supervision of the Iranian industrial company Armadashin that specializes in manufacturing grinding machines implemented for the mill project where furnaces in Sweida and the rest of the governorates are supplied with flour which is produced with good quality according to the Syrian standards adopted, which is reflected in the quality of the bread produced.
The mill is located on an area of 50 dunums within the industrial city of Umm Al-Zaytun and it comes among five mills that the Syrian Grain Foundation contracted with the Iranian company to implement, knowing that two silos with a capacity of ten thousand tons, each with a capacity of 5 thousand tons of wheat, are attached to it.
