Good story: We stood around his bed in tears and sang, and then he passed away

I shouted to all our group to come back, and entered the room. We saw a Jew lying in bed with his eyes closed, breathing quietly. The musicians began quietly playing the familiar and familiar tune of 'Friend of Mind'. We looked at the Jew lying in bed and suddenly we saw his lips moving home shouting to the whole family: Come quick Dad sing

Occasionally I lecture in various places. In one of the last lectures I gave, I told the following story: "Once a month, usually for Rosh Chodesh, we go out with some well-known clarinet players to play and sing to patients at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. Usually, the department where we feel the most important is the oncology department. Sometimes it is enough for one Jew who has cancer to feel a little at ease and a little feeling good - it is all worth our trip and arrival to the hospital.

Usually we come on a Saturday evening and sing with the patients Shabbat songs, which are the songs that strengthen the souls of the sick. One of the times when we arrived at the department, we saw around one of the rooms a big bustle and a lot of people at the entrance to the room. Since both of my parents passed away from cancer, I immediately understood what this hustle meant. Apparently the whole family came to say goodbye to one of the family members.

Just a little soulmate

Our whole group bypassed the family gently, and most of the time I went straight to the room before I could come in. One woman came up to me and said, "Thank you, but no thanks. Our dad is in his last moments, we got the whole family to say goodbye and now it doesn't belong." I looked at the daughter of that Jew and said to her, "Saturday evening today, maybe 'soulmate'?" I did not understand where I had the audacity to say this sentence, nor did I understand why it was the song and melody friend that we did not sing in any room. She looked at me and replied, "Yes, soul mate."

I shouted to all of our group to come back, and entered the room. In the room, we saw a Jew lying in bed with his eyes closed, breathing quiet silent breaths. The musicians began to play quietly with the clarinet and guitar to the simple and familiar melody of a 'friend of the soul' singing in every synagogue. We all looked at the Jew lying in bed and suddenly we saw his lips moving. His house, too, noticed that he was singing the tune with us, and immediately shouted to the whole family: "Come quick, Dad sings." We immediately moved to the corner of the room and the whole family began to sing with the father the melody with much crying and excitement until the melody ended.

When we finished the tune, all the family members came to thank us, then we left them and moved on to the next room. As we entered the next room, we heard the cries of the family we had just left, whose father's soul had risen to decay. The soul rose to the sky when the song that played on its lips was "soulmate."

Don't stop crying

When I finished the lecture, someone approached me and asked to accompany me to the car. I saw that she was really shaking from tears and excitement. She told me the following amazing story, which gave an amazing answer to my question from the story: "My brother is cancerous, and lately Gd has an improvement in his health. In the last Purim, we decided to make him and his family happy and we all dressed up in the same costume including mom and dad. Grandpa and grandma, and my grandfather gave my brother a drink of wine, my brother did not get drunk, but was a little shy.

As we got down the whole family to the car we noticed that my brother was missing, I went up to my grandparents' house to call him. When I entered their home, I saw him standing there crying and praying for a Creator to save him and help him. He shouted that he actually saw the angels. He also told of many great rabbis he sees in heaven, and also said their names. During the great prayer and crying, both mother and father and the rest of the family joined in and we all cried and prayed with him. Just before he finished the special and exciting prayer, my brother said the following sentence: I want you to join me and sing with me the melody I saw in heaven that is the special melody of the Blessed One, and began to sing excitedly "Friend of Soul."

She ended her words with tears and great excitement. I said goodbye to her and realized that I probably did not just connect with this specific melody that Friday in Hadassah Ein Kerem. From that day I refer to this melody as the melody of the Blessed One.
