Summary :
Former Sarthe MP François Fillon is accused of having paid his wife Pénélope and two of her children for parliamentary assistant tasks that they did not perform. The Fillon affair, revealed in January 2017 while he was leading the polls, led to his defeat in the first round of the presidential election and his withdrawal from political life.
Source code retraces this story in two episodes. From the youngest deputy in France to the boss of the Republicans (LR), this first chapter tells how François Fillon rose through the ranks of power, to the point of thinking that he would become president of the Republic.
Story by Olivier Beaumont and Quentin Laurent, journalists at the Politics of Parisian service.
