Municipal in Paris: Dati passes Hidalgo in the first round, limited "Buzyn effect"

2020-02-19T11:36:31.120Z

SURVEY - Candidate LR confirms her strong momentum in the first round, but the socialist mayor remains predominant in the second.

Rachida Dati's dynamics are growing. With 25% of the voting intentions (+ 5 points) in the first round, the leader of the Republicans (LR) passes for the first time before the outgoing socialist mayor Anne Hidalgo (23%, stable), according to the last Odoxa survey for Le Figaro and CGI, first poll published after the abandonment of Benjamin Griveaux. The progression of the candidate LR is strong in the first round, but not sufficient, in the second, to thwart the first place obtained by Anne Hidalgo in most of the hypotheses tested.

As for the Parisian Walkers, time is running out. With less than a month to go before the municipal elections, the start of the campaign at short notice for their new candidate, Agnès Buzyn, only modifies voting intentions to the margin. Like Benjamin Griveaux before he retired from the race, victim of the dissemination on the web of private intimate images, the former Minister of Health is given in third position (17%; +1 compared to his predecessor). It is ahead of environmental candidate David Belliard (14%; -0.5) and dissident macronist Cédric Villani, down sharply (7%; -3).

This investigation should especially reassure the troops of Rachida Dati. Attentive to the balances expressed in the polls, but aware that the election is played first on the scale of the arrondissements. On March 15 and 22, not all Parisians will have a "Dati", "Hidalgo" or "Buzyn" bulletin: they will vote by district for their advisers in Paris, who will then elect the mayor.
