Fatima case exposes vulnerability of minors in Mexico 3:09

(CNN Spanish) - Little Fatima was sexually abused and was beaten, as confirmed by the Attorney General of Mexico City, Ernestina Godoy Ramos, this Tuesday at a press conference about the advances in the investigation of the case.

This confirmation was made by Godoy Ramos at the end of the conference when a journalist asked her if the girl had been sexually abused, to which she replied: "It is in the results of the autopsy, yes."

Fatima, 7, disappeared on February 11 after leaving school. According to what the authorities said and taught in a video, the girl would have been taken from school by a woman. According to the Prosecutor's investigations, when the mother arrived to pick up her daughter, the girl was gone.

According to the Attorney General of Mexico City, on February 12, the child disappeared and at that time the Amber alert was activated and a search protocol in hospitals, transportation centers and more.

That same February 12, said Nelly Montealegre, deputy attorney for Victim Assistance, the family watched videos of surveillance cameras in the nearby area.

The child's body was found in a plastic bag on Saturday, February 15 at 2 p.m. local time.
