Affordable living space is rare in Murnau. Now at least the first twelve apartments of a larger construction project on Adalbert-Stifter-Straße have been handed over to their destination.

Murnau - relief for the tense Murnau real estate market: Twelve apartments that were built in the course of the first construction phase of the project by Wohnbau GmbH Weilheim on Adalbert-Stifter-Straße have now been officially handed over to their destination. By autumn 2022, a total of 42 subsidized residential units and seven freely financed row houses will have been built in three construction phases, which will cost a total of 14.4 million euros.

The groundbreaking for this took place in August 2018 (we reported). Wohnbau GmbH Weilheim, a municipal company that is committed to social housing and operates in the Altland district of Weilheim, acts as the owner of the project realized by the architecture firm Rill and Lechner in Weilheim. The market town of Murnau takes care of the occupancy of the quarters: In order to move in there, the tenants need a residence permit, which is only issued to people with low incomes. The twelve finished apartments are already occupied, which is no wonder given the tense market situation in the region.

As a result, there were beaming faces when handing over the keys from Housing Director Markus Kleinen and CSU District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß (Weilheim-Schongau district), who is the chairman of the company's shareholders' meeting, to Murnau's Mayor Rolf Beuting (ÖDP / Bürgerforum). Jochner-Weiß emphasized the importance of the housing construction society in our day and age, which has a structure that has grown over 71 years: "In times of housing shortage, such a construction company picks up speed in such a way that it is tremendous." No secret of pride for this facility, which has a total of 1500 apartments and builds another 25 each year.

Beuting broke into the same horn: “This is not a small drop in the bucket, but a big one. I am infinitely glad that we have Wohnbau Weilheim. ”Then he went into the current housing shortage:“ We are in a situation in which we have to remove a good part of the real estate market from this speculative madness. ”

In the project, old apartments that can no longer be renovated will be replaced by new ones. Eight of the previous tenants are moving back into the new apartments, four parties are new. And Beuting did not want to refrain from a little swipe at the discussion about the planning around the innovation district: "You can see that the three-story building does not mean that you can let off steam here in New York."

Housing manager Kleinen went into the technical details of the facility. As he said, photovoltaic systems are installed on all roofs, and the electricity generated is marketed by the Murnau municipal works. The project was financed with EUR 900,000 equity, a loan from the Murnau market municipality of EUR 490,000, a grant from the Government of Upper Bavaria of EUR 890,000, a government loan of EUR 6.3 million and a savings bank loan of EUR 5.8 million Euro came about. He put the basic rent for one square meter at ten euros, whereby the tenants only had to pay six or eight euros, depending on the housing permit. Above all, the pastors of the two denominations, Siegbert Schindele and Andreas Fach, wished the future residents a peaceful coexistence before they blessed the newly created district.
