A poll is not a prediction. As for the election of the mayor of Paris, it obeys rules so particular that it is very difficult to make a forecast. But, a few months ago, no one would have imagined that Rachida Dati could turn first in the first round in the capital. Two points in front of Anne Hidalgo. It is however the result of the study published by Le Figaro , this Thursday, less than a month from the municipal elections.
This surprise, however, is not entirely one. The outgoing socialist mayor has long been rejected by many Parisians. It pays for governance marked by its lack of listening and dialogue on a number of files. Some thus saw opening a boulevard for the candidate of the presidential majority. In the light of the good scores recorded in Paris by Emmanuel Macron in 2017, then by the list of the Élysée in the Europeans, the victory seemed to him acquired.
This is far from the case. Not only does each ballot have its own challenges.
