London - Andrew Weatherall is dead. The British musician, DJ and producer died unexpectedly at the age of 56 . On Monday morning, February 17, he was admitted to a London hospital . A short time later, news of his death came. As the Rolling Stone reports, pulmonary embolism is the cause of death.

"He was treated on an outpatient basis, but unfortunately the clot reached his heart. His death was quick and peaceful, ”his management announced in a statement to The Guardian. Had a good dance for over 6 plus hours and a good laugh and catch up with our dear friend. Andrew as always played on for longer the music inspiring. Combination of love and huge sadness currently. We have lost one of the greatest music talents of all time feeling heartbroken

Andrew Weatherall: A man with many talents

DJ, producer, remixer and musician - Andrew Weatherall had many talents. He was one of the central figures in the British electronic scene . Through him the music genre Acid-House reached the mainstream and was also successful outside of Great Britain.

In the early 90s Weatherall produced the album "Screamadelica" by the band Primal Scream . The international success of the album made the DJ known to a wider audience. His remix for the song "Soon" from "My Bloody Valentine" was later celebrated worldwide.

During the course of his career, the Briton adopted various pseudonyms such as "The Sabers of Paradise" or "Two Lone Swordsmen".
