So far, Diamond Princess has diagnosed 55 Hong Kong people and 33 close contacts. More than 200 people said they would take charter flights, and 20 to 30 Hong Kong people said they would not take charter flights. "I chartered a day at Haneda Airport, and I hope they will change their minds to take a free charter flight," he said.

The Secretary for Food and Health, Chen Zhaoshi, said that passengers who tested negative for the virus would have their temperature checked before boarding the plane in Japan. After the plane arrived in Hong Kong, they would check their temperature again. Chen pointed out that if Hong Kong residents' body temperature and other conditions are okay after returning to Hong Kong, they will be arranged to segregate themselves for 14 days in Junyang Village, Fo Tan, and obtain a sample of the victim. If the virus test is positive, it will be sent to the hospital for isolation immediately.
