Eight people were killed and many others injured by gunfire in two districts of Hanau, western Germany, late last night.
Reuters quoted German police as saying that special police units were chasing the perpetrators who had escaped from the site of the first attack in a black car, adding that the shooting took place in two cafes in two different areas of the city.
The German newspaper Bild confirmed that at least eight people were killed while five others were injured.
It is noteworthy that the city of Hanau has a population of 100,000 people in the state of Hesse, about 25 kilometers east of Frankfurt.
