China has announced that the death toll from the coronavirus inside the country has risen to 2118.

"We have received data from 31 provinces confirming that 74576 people have been infected, and at the moment we have 56,303 patients, of whom 11,864 are in critical condition," Xinhua news agency quoted the Chinese National Health Commission as saying today.

She added: "2118 people died of the virus and 16,155 people recovered after treatment."

China, where the new Corona virus was first discovered about two months ago, continues to take strict measures to limit the spread of the virus and make every effort to control it and find effective treatment for it.

Two people died from corona virus on board the Japanese cruise ship

In a related context, two people who were infected with the Corona virus died while on board a cruise ship under quarantine in the Japanese port of Yokohama, on the outskirts of the Japanese capital, Tokyo.
