The lawyers of François Fillon, Penelope Fillon and Marc Joulaud, tried from Monday in Paris in the case of the alleged fictitious jobs of Ms. Fillon, will request the postponement of the first day of hearing due to the lawyers' strike, according to a press release sent Thursday, February 20 to AFP.

Antonin Lévy, Pierre Cornut-Gentille and Jean Veil " informed the court of a request to postpone the hearing scheduled for Monday, February 24, 2020 in support of the lawyers' strike movement against the reform of their autonomous pension plan ", they explain.

The court will have to rule on this request at the start of the hearing on Monday. " If this request is accepted, the hearing will resume on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 ", the second half-day hearing scheduled, they said.

The trial is scheduled to take place from February 24 to March 11 before the Paris Criminal Court, three half-days per week.

Former Prime Minister François Fillon and his former deputy in the Sarthe Marc Joulaud will be tried in particular for embezzlement of public funds, and Penelope Fillon for complicity and concealment of this crime. The Fillon will also be tried for complicity and concealment of misuse of corporate assets.

The lawyers started a hard and unprecedented strike at the beginning of January against the pension reform which will see the contributions of those earning less than 40,000 euros doubled per year. The movement led to the dismissal of thousands of audiences.
