Prime Minister Edouard Philippe presented Thursday February 20 in Le Havre the members of his list for the next municipal elections in front of more than 500 people, found an AFP correspondent.
This list is " in the image of the city and its diversity, " proclaimed the Prime Minister who led Le Havre from 2010 to 2017, until he was called to take the head of government after the election of Emmanuel Macron. Mr. Philippe assured having chosen the members of his list, " without partisan consideration ", according to three criteria: " the will to transform, intellectual freedom, love of the city ". On this list appear, in second position, the deputy Agnès Firmin-Le Bodo (Agir - La Droite constructive), and in third place, the current mayor of Le Havre since March 2019, Jean-Baptiste Gastinne (LR). Other candidates, including the youngest at 21, include a professional firefighter, a hairdressing salon manager, an apprentice pastry chef, a dental surgeon, a school principal, a retired industrialist, a lawyer. or a nurse and a former EDF agent.
Before the arrival of the Prime Minister, about fifty " yellow vests " had launched some rockets, a few hundred meters from the stadium where the meeting was held. At the beginning of his intervention, a small group of demonstrators created a hubbub but the group was quickly led out of the room.
