A bomb exploded in Damascus on Thursday injuring two civilians, the latest attack in the Syrian capital, bastion of power of Bashar al-Assad, the official Sana news agency reported.
"An explosive device placed on a van exploded in the Al-Marjé neighborhood" in central Damascus, said Sana. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH), "the bomb was placed on a military vehicle". However, the attack was not claimed.
On Tuesday, a similar explosion injured five people in another area of Damascus. On February 10, a bomb placed on board a vehicle exploded without causing any casualties.

The Syrian capital has been regularly targeted by bombings since the start of the war in Syria in 2011, but the pace of attacks had dropped sharply following the regime's takeover of the entire region in 2018. Damascus and its surroundings, from where the rebels and jihadists were driven out.
