As a second major project alongside the town center renovation (report to follow), the Petershausen City Council decided to build a kindergarten.
Five kindergarten groups and one day nursery group are planned for a total of up to 150 children. The crib rooms can also be converted for a kindergarten group. The municipality expects total costs of 6.8 million euros.
Because of the location on Jetzendorfer Strasse, five CSU councilors voted against the project.
Since the previous four-group St. Laurentius Catholic kindergarten from the Franziskuswerk is not in a good structural condition, the institution and the municipality have decided to build a new building for the kindergarten and crèche. In the development plan "Kindergarten Mitterfeld IV", the local council had laid down the requirements for the new kindergarten.
The kindergarten in wood construction has two floors and consists of an L-shaped main building with the longitudinal dimensions 40 and 56.5 meters and widths from ten to 14.5 meters as well as an attached outbuilding with 14.3 meters length and 2.2 to 4, 3 meters wide. The gable roof has a pitch of 23.5 degrees. The outbuilding is covered by a play bridge.
"We are not against the kindergarten, but against the location", Günter Fuchs justified the rejection of the CSU group. The location is the wrong place and causes too high costs.
According to the mayor Marcel Fath (FW), the state subsidies have to be regulated before the tender can start. The Catholic Church has committed 1.4 million euros in a letter of intent.
As construction manager Thomas Schleicher reports, depending on the grant agreement from the government, construction could start in autumn 2020 or spring 2021. The kindergarten is scheduled to open in September 2022. Cornelia Hartmuth
