Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Russian State Duma Yuri Shvitkin stressed that the hostilities carried out by the authorities of the Turkish regime in Idlib constitute a violation of the Astana and Sochi agreements.
"If Turkey decides to take extraordinary steps in terms of its hostilities, it will cost her a lot and she must realize responsibility for what is happening there," Schwetkin told reporters today in Moscow.
The parliamentarian from the United Russia bloc pointed out that the Russian group in Syria is doing everything in its power to prevent terrorist acts on Syrian soil and is able, if necessary, to respond in an appropriate manner, explaining that what the other parties are doing in Idlib violates the Astana and Sochi agreements.
The Russian Ministry of Defense had called earlier today for the Turkish regime to stop supporting terrorists in Idlib Governorate and provide them with weapons.
