Moscow-Sana

The Russian Foreign Ministry warned the Turkish regime against supporting terrorist attacks in Idlib Governorate and continuing to make provocative statements about the situation in it.

"Turkey's support for terrorist attacks threatens to further escalate the conflict in Syria," spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a press conference today, expressing Moscow's deep concern over the Turkish regime's support for terrorists.

"Today, the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria reported several large-scale terrorist attacks," Zakharova said, noting that terrorist attacks "were supported by Turkish army artillery fire" and that this behavior was in violation of the Sochi understandings.

Commenting on statements made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about Idlib, Zakharova said: “With regard to these statements, there are several countries that calculate that they can make them, even though from our point of view we should activate expert channels above all, so these channels have potential Huge".

Syria confirmed during a session of the UN Security Council yesterday that Erdogan's regime outside the international legitimacy continues to support Western countries its attacks on Syrian soil in an attempt to save its tools from terrorist groups, stressing that it will fight terrorism on its soil and will continue to do so until every inch of it is freed.

On the other hand, Zakharova stressed that the European Union should coordinate with the UN Security Council on how to deploy the military operation to control the issue of the arms embargo imposed on Libya.

She said: "We start from the fact that the European Union and those who are developing the military process must coordinate their deployment or at least discuss their form with the UN Security Council, because no party can take any measures that can be considered as not respecting the powers of this supreme body to maintain International peace and security.

Zakharova pointed out that in 2011 several countries had already ignored the Security Council resolution on Libya, which led to the destruction of the Libyan state and caused the military conflict to continue on its soil, adding: “We believe that by working through the Security Council our European colleagues will be able to develop the required solutions, and it is important Be in compliance with international law standards, including the powers of the UN Security Council. ”

The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, confirmed yesterday, after the meeting, "Russia Italy" held in Rome that "the mission of the European Union aimed at preventing the arrival of weapons to Libya must work in agreement with the Security Council."

In another context, Zakharova warned that Russia considers the new US sanctions against Rosneft Trading SA an example of unfair competition and will only exacerbate relations between Moscow and Washington.

"Behind the sanctions imposed by the US authorities in addition to the geopolitical goals, there is an ordinary desire to create an advantage for American companies that do not stand up to fair competition and competition from private companies and in particular competition with Russian manufacturers in global markets," Zakharova said.

Washington had included yesterday the company "Rosneft Trading" branch of the Russian "Rosneft" commercial company in Switzerland and Chairman of the Board of Directors Didier Casemiro as part of the sanctions imposed on Venezuela, because of the company's cooperation with the legitimate Venezuelan government and President Nicholas Maduro.

To that, Russian diplomacy announced that Russia is deeply concerned about armed conflicts in the Donbas region, noting that, according to information available to us by representatives of Lugansk, the situation near this region escalated dramatically on February 18, when the Ukrainian armed forces opened fire and launched An attack repelled by the People's Forces of the Lugansk People's Republic.
