The funeral of former socialist minister Michel Charasse will take place Wednesday in Puy-Guillaume (Puy-de-Dôme) in the presence of Emmanuel Macron, we learned Friday from concordant sources.
A ceremony will take place at 3:00 p.m. in the town hall of Puy-Guillaume, the town of which the deceased was mayor from 1977 to 2010, said the president of the Puy-de-Dôme departmental council Jean-Yves Gouttebel.

Emmanuel Macron, who hailed one of the “ most passionate servants of the Republic ”, will be present, said the entourage of the head of state.
The town hall of Puy-Guillaume announced the death of Michel Charasse, following a long illness, which occurred on the night of Thursday to Friday at the Clermont-Ferrand hospital.
Known for having been very close to François Mitterrand, and an atypical figure of the Socialist Party, Michel Charasse had been Minister of the Budget in the government of Michel Rocard in 1988 and had ended his career among the sages of the Constitutional Council, from 2010 to 2019.
