Update of February 21: Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are no longer allowed to use their brand name "Sussex Royal" from spring. This was announced by a spokesman for the couple on Friday evening in London. The couple must also not call their new non-profit organization the “Sussex Royal Foundation” . Harry and Meghan announced their retirement from their royal duties in January and want to become financially independent. The brand name could have helped them with new sources of income.
Damper for Harry and Meghan: You may not use the name "Sussex Royal"
Update from February 19, 2020: Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan may not use the self-created brand name "Sussex Royal". Queen Elizabeth II is currently having this checked, but the Queen and her advisors may come to the conclusion that the term "royal" is no longer appropriate, the British daily "The Telegraph" reported, citing the palace related sources. There was initially no statement from Buckingham Palace on this.
So there is a lot of evidence that Harry and Meghan have to give up the brand name. Therefore, the couple would also have to rename their Instagram name, on which the two have been providing their 11.3 million followers with impressions about their private lives and the “Sussex Royal” brand for almost a year.

Meghan and Harry secure trademark rights for “Sussex Royals” - will they soon sell clothes and books?
First announcement on December 29, 2019: London - " Sussex Royals " was so far only the name of a foundation that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan had founded this year. But soon, numerous products such as clothes or books could appear under the "Sussex Royals" brand - because the royal couple has now officially obtained the rights to do so.

As early as June, Harry and Meghan are said to have applied to have the name of their "Sussex Royals" foundation registered as an official brand. This request was now accepted on December 20, according to a document published by the UK Intellectual Property Office. With the newly secured trademark rights , the royal couple now have all doors open to offer their own products under their name in the future. So far, in addition to their joint foundation, the family's official Instagram channel has also borne this.
However, an exact project cannot be read from the document so far, because Harry and Meghan have registered a total of over 100 products and services that should be secured in the event of an emergency. This includes everything you can imagine - from clothing such as headbands or jackets, to charity campaigns, to newspapers and books.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan officially secure trademark rights
"The name comes from the fact that Harry and Meghan want to build their brand and do things their way," Promiflash quotes an insider earlier this year when the two founded the foundation. It remains to be seen whether the couple will soon be offering goods such as clothes. It is also reasonable to assume that this should only prevent that no one else sells goods under the same name.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan surprisingly spent Christmas with their Archie in Canada. The family wanted to visit a restaurant there, but refused. Before Meghan Markle became known with the "Suits" series, she waited a long time for success. The Duchess of today kept herself afloat with tiny and sometimes dubious roles.
Looking at 2019, however, the positive impressions of Meghan and Harry predominate. But is there a nasty blow from Duchess Kate?
