Polling stations opened at 8 a.m. Friday across Iran for parliamentary elections where the Conservatives are favorites. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei cast his ballot in the ballot box at the opening of the poll, according to images from state television. After voting, Ali Khamenei renewed his call for mass participation and encouraged people to vote "as soon as possible" .
