There is no question of throwing in the towel. The “Parisiennes, Parisiens” movement has decided to continue its municipal campaign despite the rallying of its co-founder Gaspard Gantzer to Agnès Buzyn, the new candidate of the Republic in March for mayor of Paris.
The former adviser to President François Hollande will head the list in the 6th arrondissement facing Jean-Pierre Lecoq, outgoing mayor (LR), candidate for his re-election.
A vagueness on the use of the name
"This unilateral decision by Gaspard Gantzer, which we take note of, is the opposite of the approach that we had initiated with him", denounced this Friday 11 heads of list of the movement created in June 2018, who decided to continue the campaign despite everything. A vagueness remains however on the use of the name "Parisiennes, Parisiens" of which Gaspard Gantzer claims ownership.
Only the candidates from Paris Center and the 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th arrondissements declared forfeit after the rallying of Gaspard Gantzer (who had initially chosen to run in the 15th).
Annie Novelli, head of the list in the 16th century, does not hide her disappointment. “I had just defended the candidacy of Gaspard Gantzer for an hour at the microphone of RCJ when I learned by leaving the radio his rallying to Agnès Buzyn. I respect his choice but I am deeply shocked that he did not warn us before making his decision public. We would not have overwhelmed it, “says the former socialist candidate for the legislative elections of 2012 in the 16th century.
The same bitterness was noticeable in the message posted on Twitter by the running mate Pierre Lepelletier: "We asked him for a meeting to discuss it, he did not follow up. He did not have the courage ”.
The anger of its list leaders is all the greater since they learned this Friday afternoon that the site of their movement was no longer accessible.

The former communicator, who swore to go all the way, announced Thursday to the Parisian abandon his independent campaign in Paris and join the former Minister of Health for municipal in Paris.

“I understand the frustration of the candidates who wanted to continue the adventure. It was no longer possible to continue the campaign. We were unable to create momentum above 5%, ”explains Parisian Gaspard Gantzer.
“I consider that Agnes Buzyn can embody this alternative to Anne Hidalgo. She does not have the divisive image of a Benjamin Griveaux, he adds. She gathers and she will win this election. If Benjamin Griveaux had remained a candidate, I would have purely and simply renounced my candidacy. Politics is not a game, it is not a hobby. We must win ".
According to a last poll published Thursday, its Gaspard Gantzer list was credited with 1.5%.
