Young Dominicans take to the streets for democracy 2:38

(CNN Spanish) - The Central Electoral Board of the Dominican Republic decided to suspend from its functions the director of Information Technology of the institution, Miguel Ángel García, for the purpose of the investigation that will be carried out by the International Electoral Systems Foundation (IFES) and the Union Inter-American Electoral Organisms (UNIORE) on what happened on Sunday with the municipal elections, be done in the most objective manner reported in a press conference.

While the election director of the electoral body said it has not yet been required by the investigative bodies to be interrogated for the alleged sabotage of the municipal elections suspended this Sunday.

Mario Núñez said that the institution is open for what is required and clarify what happened last Sunday.

While the nonpartisan movement, Participación Ciudadana, ensures that five days after the suspension of municipal elections, the technicians of the Central Electoral Board should present their version on the alleged sabotage.

For its part, the National Human Rights Commission condemned that to date the National Police has not identified the real perpetrators of the boycott of these elections.
