Amid tears of joy and prolonged hugs, journalist Adrián Fernández met again with his relatives Thursday after being released by the Unit Specialized in Combat Abduction (UECS) of the Attorney General of Morelos. During the operation, agents of that body arrested 10 alleged kidnappers. The journalist was kidnapped on Wednesday by a command in a restaurant bar in Cuernavaca. The Prosecutor's Office, which had the support of the National Guard, detailed in a statement that the operation was carried out in the Lomas de Jiutepec neighborhood and after intelligence work they identified the address where Fernández was held captive. Once they arrived at the scene, the agents were shot by two people who were at the entrance. Despite the hostile reception, they managed to rescue the journalist. In addition to freeing Fernandez, security officers arrested 10 suspected kidnappers and seized eight short weapons, three cars and a motorcycle.
