The Major Event and Disaster Support System (MIIDSS), commonly known as "Super Computer", is a computer system managed by the Criminal Support Division of the Criminal Division of the Hong Kong Police Force's Criminal and Security Division. It mainly assists frontline personnel in investigating complex and serious crimes, analyzes case information, and reduces investigations. The system assisted the Department of Health in tracing the source of transmission in SARS in 2003, and based on the input of names and addresses, after calculation and analysis, the SARS patient relationship network diagram was obtained. According to government data of that year, the "Super Computer" combined with the Department of Health's case contact information system and the HA's online database of severe acute respiratory syndrome (also known as SARS) were traced to 26,000 during the peak of the epidemic. The system was also used to help identify dead and injured during the 2004 South Asian tsunami.
In 2016, the major event and disaster support system was updated to the third generation, and the "infectious disease infection tracking" function was introduced and has been used to date.
