Poing - Poing's Protestant pastor Michael Simonsen held a carnival service for the eighth time - completely in rhyme form. From the greeting to all prayers to the final blessing. Texted, of course, also the sermon. Last Sunday, the Christuskirche was very well filled at the somewhat different worship service, in which not only the pastor was disguised,
as a princess with flowing blond hair.

Some of the visitors had also come with make-up and / or masked and heard the words of God and the pastor in a different form. And with a smile. As Simonsen said beforehand as the reason why he is organizing a carnival service: "There is far too little laughter, even in the church."

Here is an excerpt from Father Michael Simonsen's carnival sermon:

“We remain as 'Christ's fools'
in god who is his love here
in the gospel proclaimed
and overcome all suffering!
Brave: making mistakes is life,
because there will be no mistakes.
Through God's Spirit, I soon realize
I find support in free fall.
If he's in falling motion,
gently holds me in every emotion.
I'm not ashamed of faith
he is my light in the dark.
No matter where I am and stand,
Whose paths I'm currently on
where my path leads and takes me,
whether sad, empty or lively.
Life is not free from suffering,
the soul is liberated from God!
So now cheerful, not despondent:
Take steps
Dare to live! "
