State of emergency on the streets of Moorenweiser: This time the carnival procession broke all previous records. More than 60 numbers with over 1,100 active participants skipped through the town.

Moorenweis - The move organized by TSV Moorenweis had the motto of three anniversaries: the sports club celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, the gymnast guard its 70th year and the carnival procession itself is now 60 years old. The organizers were all the more pleased about the participation, which was higher than ever.

There were 63 numbers to marvel at, including 25 carnival wagons, which showed how many weeks of work were in them. The giant monopoly of the Moorenweiser boys' club decorated the house and hotel in the proper style as they are known from the board game. The gymnast was in the red and white striped circus wagon. A "dream ship" glowed white in the colorful carnival world.

Franz Seiler, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, was also pleased with "the many small numbers that were designed with a lot of love" and which - despite all the fun - picked up current Moorenweiser topics, such as the closure of the old school.

The neighborhood help as a nursing squad pushed a rolling bed through the streets to draw attention to the lack of nursing staff. The theater club, in snowman costumes, lamented the winter, which was not. The rural youth Steinbach wanted to save the whole world. Garden friends from Adelshofen came as colorful flowers to advertise more insect friendliness in private gardens ("I'm glad I'm not a boxwood").

The TSV was particularly proud of the legendary cow, which was part of the very first carnival procession in 1960. For years, the original frame had been “totally broken” on some storage, as Franz Seiler explains. It was painstakingly restored for the anniversary carnival parade.

But it was almost even more difficult to find two volunteers who were walking in the cow rack. "It's a hell of a job," says Seiler. "The person behind has to walk stooped all the time and sees nothing at all."

The participants were rewarded by masses of spectators who crowded the sidewalks despite the stormy weather. They had the pleasure of seeing the Gaudi worm twice on the central section. However, the train was almost longer than the route - while the first groups were already ready for the second round on the maypole, the last carriages of the rear part of the train passed in front of them. But because everyone - participants and spectators - slipped a little, the traffic jam did not last longer than ten minutes.

It was then clear to the organizers that they had exhausted the maximum possible. “We could have used a maximum of two cars,” summed up Seiler. "We can't get more numbers."
