The Ministry of Health continues to implement its strict precautionary measures related to coronavirus prevention by examining travelers coming to Syria at airports and all border crossings in accordance with international health regulations.

During Sana's follow-up to the procedures for examining arrivals to Syria via Damascus International Airport, Director of Damascus Health Dr. Hazar Raef stated in a statement to reporters that work and health monitoring are continuing within the national plan that the ministry has put in place as preventive measures to prevent the entry of the Corona virus and that all these procedures are carried out within the international health regulations.

Raef confirmed that no infection has been recorded so far with the Corona virus in Syria, calling on citizens not to believe what is published on a number of social media pages, and that if any infection is recorded, it will be officially announced.

Health personnel and workers at the border crossings were provided with protective clothing and masks, according to Raef, especially flight attendants working on public and private airlines, and training them to measure temperatures with special devices "remote temperature measurement" and the method of investigation of any disease among passengers relating to symptoms of corona or influenza. From the medical team working at the health center at Damascus International Airport, Dr. Ahmed Mihoub said in a statement to the SANA delegate that their work is continuous throughout the 24 hours, as the arrivals are received from the moment they arrive at the airport at the first gate and measure their temperature and ask them about any health symptoms they suffer from, especially respiratory congestion.
