A pilot and his passenger died Sunday afternoon in the crash of a passenger plane in Puy-de-Dôme, we learned from the firefighters, confirming information from the regional daily La Montagne.

The accident occurred shortly before 2:00 p.m. in Beaulieu, in the south of the department, when the two victims, whose identity has not been communicated, had just taken off from Clermont-Ferrand.
According to the firefighters, they were found dead inside the cockpit of the aircraft, a light aircraft which crashed in a field of the commune for an undetermined reason. An investigation has been opened.
