Geretsried - water and plants are to form the "heart" of the new T-Zone, i.e. the area of Karl-Lederer-Platz with Egerlandstrasse. This is how architect and urban planner Klaus Kehrbaum put it recently in the city council meeting, which was about fountains, fountains and “green pillows” for the good parlor.
As soon as the temperatures allow it, a fountain with the stone "three graces" will be rebuilt directly in front of the town hall. A watercourse will run from the fountain to Café Waldmann. A funny suggestion by Kehrbaum for this section was very well received by the city council. If the visitor to the center sits on "wobbly stones" along the watercourse and moves them, this triggers surprise fountains. “It then sprays a jet three times, five times or seven times,” Kehrbaum described the fun. Mayor Michael Müller (CSU) even felt reminded of the famous fountains at Hellbrunn Palace in Salzburg.

Games and fun could also be in the foreground at another fountain on Egerlandstrasse, in front of BGZ 2. Kehrbaum presented four options: a square fountain to sit on the edge, one with a tree in the middle, one with a sculpture and - his favorite - a pool with stones in it that children can jump around on.
The photo showed square stones that look like ice floes. City councilor Heidi Dodenhöft (free voters) would prefer round. The risk of injury is lower for them and they would visually remind of large Isar pebbles, she said. Karin Schmid (CSU) feared that she would constantly have to jump after her grandchildren and possibly slip. Kehrbaum reassured himself that the stone elements would not become slippery thanks to a special treatment of the water.

According to Mayor Michael Müller, all “water features” are maintenance-intensive and therefore cost-intensive, the city notices that at the fountain on Neuer Platz. A decision about a well model was not made at the meeting. However, the city will lay the necessary lines under Egerlandstrasse.
It is not trees like at Karl-Lederer-Platz that are supposed to provide green, but alternatives. Kehrbaum suggested lawn-covered islands where you can sit or lie, called "green pillows". All elements should serve for communication and should be a substitute for play equipment for children, said Kehrbaum.
