Tan Yaozong met the media after finishing the meeting in the afternoon. He said that 171 people attended the meeting, of which 114 people attended the meeting in the Great Hall of the People, and the remaining 57 participated in the meeting by video. As voting is held by hands, anyone participating in a video conference can also vote. He said that this is the first time that the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has held a video conference and described the process as smooth, but it was not discussed at the meeting whether it would continue to meet in this form in the future. He also pointed out that the extension of the two conferences was a decision based on comprehensive consideration, that one-third of the members of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress led the anti-epidemic work in all provinces and cities, and that they would have to quit their work to have an impact on the epidemic, taking into account the health and safety of the representatives. He estimated that the postponement would be "stable," and hoped that the epidemic could be brought under control as soon as possible and the meeting could be held smoothly.
