At around 11:00 p.m., a police patrol wanted to control several young people who fled to the sensitive Hautes-Mardelles neighborhood. " The police picked up a hookah and a Navigo pass left behind, " which angered the young people who sought to recover them, said Caroline Nisand, prosecutor of Evry. Several paving stones were thrown towards the police before a brief return to calm. A little later in the night, a dozen people attacked the police kept on site to ensure calm in the neighborhood.

They put up barricades. There were stone throws, jets of bottles and concrete blocks, ”explained the prosecutor. The security forces responded with tear gas and LBD fire. One of them hit a 19-year-old boy on the head. He was hospitalized and is severely injured in the eye, but his life is not in danger. The public prosecutor's office opened two investigations: one concerning projectile jets, was entrusted to the Sûreté départementale de l'Essonne. The second will be conducted by the " police police ", the IGPN, to determine the circumstances of the injury to the young man's eye.

Like the use of grenades to disengage, the use by the police of LBD, responsible for sometimes serious injuries, is regularly denounced by those who accused the police of excessive violence during social movements in recent months, in particular that of the yellow vests.
