Three weeks before the first round of municipal elections, candidate LR for mayor of Paris presented her program on Monday to her campaign headquarters located in the heart of the capital. "It is a pragmatic common sense project rooted in the reality of Parisians," said the candidate surrounded by a large part of her top names. “I am holding a truthful speech without taboo on Paris on the subjects that concern Parisians. I do not think we are gathering with lukewarm water , ”says the mayor of the 7th arrondissement, denouncing the policy of the outgoing majority. "Anne Hidalgo pitted the Parisians against each other, the public space has become a zone of struggle where everyone clashes!" she affirms by advocating conversely "concertation", "dialogue" and "clarity".

In clear progression in the polls and in front of the LREM candidate Agnès Buzyn, Rachida Dati intends to present herself as "the only alternative" to the outgoing mayor to avoid that the city "declines" . "I will say what I do and I will do what I say," promises candidate LR who will organize, if elected, an audit of the accounts to have "a sincere image of the finances of the city" .
There is therefore no question of announcing "major projects that will never see the light of day" , as is customary during electoral campaigns. "Let's go back to basics already!" exclaims Rachida Dati, who campaigns, among other things, on security - notably with an armed municipal police force and the tripling of the number of cameras -, cleanliness and the defense of families. Themes also defended by the LREM candidate Agnès Buzyn.

Rachida DatiDespite the similarities between the two LR and LREM projects on the campaign axes, for Rachida Dati, the solutions and the method are different. "Being mayor cannot be improvised , " retorts the mayor of the 7th arrondissement, referring to the recent entry of the former minister into the campaign, after the withdrawal of Benjamin Griveaux. “It is a long-term commitment, an experience of authority, decision, proximity. But proximity is not being friendly, it is being attentive, ” she replies, emphasizing her municipal, ministerial and European experience. "Building a project is not like learning it, it's very different," says Rachida Dati. "I do not take private lessons and I am not under guardianship (or) under tutor" , she slips again. "I know the reality of Parisians, I will be the mayor of their daily life," says Rachida Dati. “I don't offer you great ideas on paper but which will never materialize on the ground. I suggest that you generalize measures that have worked, ”she says, taking the example of policies implemented in the 7th arrondissement. As a provisional schedule of works "to articulate all the sites" and avoid nuisance for the inhabitants .
To succeed in winning his bet, Rachida Dati, who highlights his "determination" and his "pugnacity" , will receive in the coming days the support of the tenors of the right. After the presence of François Baroin, Tuesday and then at the beginning of March, the candidate LR will appear alongside Nicolas Sarkozy on March 9 for a joint meeting. "My only objective is to change Paris" , she sums up, convinced that she can win.
Safety, cleanliness, family: the program of candidate LR
Rachida Dati, the current mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris, proposes the creation of a municipal police force of 3,400 agents against 2,900 currently. It also defends the threefold increase in the number of video surveillance cameras in the capital by increasing them from 1,360 to 4,000 by the end of the mandate in 2026. One for 550 inhabitants. In her program, Rachida Dati plans to create a security assistant, a municipal police station and a victim assistant in each Parisian district. Candidate LR also wants to use private security "to ensure specific missions, such as monitoring and protecting certain sensitive sites or public buildings".
Another priority for Rachida Dati who says she is "revolted by the state of dirtiness of our city": "a clean city". She wants an investment plan of 70 million euros over 3 years "to modernize machines and tools and mechanize tasks". The LR candidate also undertakes to “be by the side” of families by facilitating daily life: creation of a Paris d'Avenir check - 1,200 euros per year for 3 years - for those who reside in Paris and wish to move to the arrival of a new child, reduction of the maximum rate for the canteen, extension of the nursery hours, end of the draw for entry to the conservatory.
