Coronavirus: are we near a global pandemic?

The World Health Organization advises that we should prepare for an eventual pandemic, but there is no mathematical definition of what it is, nor an established number of confirmed cases that would be needed to declare it. It is epidemiologists who decide the terminology and, for the moment, they still do not venture to use this word, although the coronavirus continues to spread through countries such as Italy, Iran or South Korea.
